Spook-tacular Allergen-Safe Treats for Halloween

Halloween is creeping closer, and we’ve cooked up three ghoulishly good recipes that are guaranteed to thrill your taste buds and keep everyone safe from allergens. At Creative Nature, we believe no one should miss out on the fun (or the treats!) , that’s why all of our mixes are completely free from the top 14 allergens, with our no “may contain” promise.

Whether you’re hosting a haunted house party, planning a family bake-off, or just looking to surprise your little monsters with something spooky and sweet, we’ve got you covered. From brainy cupcakes to creepy eyeballs and wormy bowls, these recipes prove that allergen-safe baking can be just as indulgent, fun, and downright unforgettable.

Our Top 3 Halloween Bakes!

1. Banana Brain Cupcake

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 pack Creative Nature Banana Bread Mix
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 50g dairy-free butter or margarine
  • Pink buttercream (store-bought or homemade with dairy-free butter)
  • Strawberry jam (for the gory brain filling)

Method:

1. Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan). Line a muffin tray with cases.

2. Combine Creative Nature Banana Bread Mix, mashed bananas, plant milk, and dairy-free butter until smooth.

3. Fill cases ¾ full. Bake 25–30 mins until golden. Cool completely.

4. Pipe pink buttercream in brain-like squiggles. Add strawberry jam in the crevices for a gory look.

5. Arrange on a platter and enjoy your spooky cupcakes!

2. Gory Pancake Worm Bowl

Ingredients: 

Method:

1. Empty the Creative Nature Pancake & Waffle Mix into a bowl. Add plant-based milk and melted dairy-free butter/oil. Mix until smooth.

2. Pour the batter into a piping bag or squeezy bottle. Heat a non-stick pan on medium and pipe thin “worms” (like spaghetti). Cook for 1–2 minutes, flip gently, and cook for 1 more minute.

3. Place the pancake worms into a bowl. Decorate with gummy worms, edible eyeballs, and spooky sweets. Drizzle strawberry sauce on top for a gory finish.

3. Eerie Eyeball Brownie Truffles

Ingredients: 

  • 1 pack Creative Nature Chocolate Brownie Mix
  • 200ml plant-based milk (we love oat or soya)
  • 100g dairy-free butter or margarine
  • 200g dairy-free white chocolate
  • Gel or icing pens in spooky colours, and edible eyeballs (can find in Sainsbury’s Home Baking) for decorating

Method: 

1. Pour the Creative Nature Chocolate Brownie Mix into a bowl with plant-based milk and melted dairy-free butter. Stir until smooth and chocolatey.

2. Preheat your cake pop maker and spoon in the batter until just full. Cook for 4–6 minutes until firm outside but fudgy inside.

3. Remove and cool completely.Melt dairy-free white chocolate in a heatproof bowl over simmering water or in short microwave bursts.

4. Dip each cooled brownie ball into the melted chocolate, turning to coat. Place on a lined tray and chill in the fridge for 20–30 minutes until set.

5. Decorate with icing pens for colourful irises and red veins, then add a chocolate chip or sweet for the pupil. Chill again if needed, then ENJOY your creepy, allergen-safe Eyeball Brownie Bites!
