Sorting Hat Cupcakes
Every student gets sorted once. Your cupcake gets sorted every time someone reaches for one.
These Sorting Hat Cupcakes take our Chocolate Cake Mix and turn it into something that looks like it belongs on the Great Hall table, without requiring a single allergen to get there. The bake itself is the easy part. Plant milk, vegetable oil, and the mix go in. Twenty-five minutes later, you have a batch of soft, rich cupcakes ready for the decoration that makes them.
And the decoration is everything. A gluten-free ice cream cone becomes the hat. Melted dark chocolate, drizzled carefully over the cone, becomes the brim, that distinctive wide sweep that makes the Sorting Hat instantly recognisable even in cupcake form. Colourful sweets finish it off, giving each one its own personality, its own little flourish, its own house energy.
The result looks like it took hours. It did not. It is completely Top 14 Allergen Free, surprisingly straightforward to pull together, and the kind of thing that makes every child at the table feel like they are sitting in the Great Hall for the very first time.
One batch. Enough to sort the whole table.
